Just One Year, One Punch Man Fighting Game Confirmed to Close Server Next Year

The fighting genre is a genre that Bandai Namco continues to explore, especially in anime-based games. But unfortunately few of them can last long in the competitive arena. One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is a recent example.

Announced via Twitter, Bandai Namco confirmed that the One Punch Man game will be shutting down its multiplayer server on February 28, 2022. Players will still be able to create characters or purchase available DLC content, but they will only be accessible in the available single player modes.

Just One Year, One Punch Man Fighting Game Confirmed to Close Server Next Year

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows was released on February 28, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game received mediocre reviews and failed to attract the attention of many fans of the manga/anime adaptations or fans of the fighting genre. The game was only played by an average of 16 players over the last 30 days on Steam.

Maybe in the end making a fighting game about anime where the main character can hit everyone in one hit is not a suitable combination. Or maybe it is not suitable to be worked on as a game at all considering the premise.
