Ubisoft Plans to Develop Money-Making Games via NFT
The rapid development of the video game industry, makes developers look for ways to develop their games with something new. One of them, of course, is by following the current industry trend, namely making games with NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens / Cryptocurrencies are included, for example: Bitcoin, Ethereum, et al).
Although initially only developed by indie developers, apparently NFT has also attracted big developers like Ubisoft.
Launching ibtimes, Ubisoft explained that they plan to make NFT-based games through their “play-to-earn” program. The French publisher and developer has invested in Animoca Brands, a video game-based blockchain company.
In the future, Ubisoft also plans to integrate blockchain technology for their games in the future.
Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot admitted that the "play-to-earn" program is one of the revolutions in the gaming industry. Allows players to enjoy their games while getting something out of them for real life. He believes that blockchain is a very attractive technology in the long term.
In other words, the concept of “playing games for money” is a way to attract players to play their games and increase their portfolio of players in a title.
